Building Pt Boats






A pt boat (short for patrol torpedo boat) was a torpedo-armed fast attack craft used by the united states navy in world war ii.it was small, fast, and inexpensive to build, valued for its maneuverability and speed but hampered at the beginning of the war by ineffective torpedoes, limited armament, and comparatively fragile construction that limited some of the variants to coastal waters.. Pt-41: building one of the expendables pt-41 is a 77 foot pt-20 class elco, shown here on the elco transport cradle. the reverse shear is an attractive feature of the class.. Building of pt 167 : write-up on a 1/72nd scale model of pt 167 by alex johnson. this was my third venture building a pt-103 series elco eighty foot pt boat with the 1/72nd scale pt-109 kit by revell and photo-etched parts manufactured by white ensign models..
